buildingSMART Canada joins One Ontario coalition
TORONTO, Ontario, January 6th, 2021
AECO Innovation Lab has announced that buildingSMART Canada (bSC), the Canadian chapter of buildingSMART International, has signed on as an official supporter of the One Ontario initiative.
buildingSMART Canada encourages innovation and believes that the One Ontario approach will result in faster construction, and bring significant value to their members and all stakeholders.
buildingSMART Canada participates in the development of international BIM standards in support of interoperability of data, consistency and efficiency in work processes, and optimization of information classification systems. They have developed BIM standards and a practice manual for Canada as well as project execution plan toolkits, a BIM contract appendix and other tools.
They exist to support the implementation of BIM in a manner and at a pace that enables industry to successfully achieve improvements in project delivery and lifecycle management of the built environment, including infrastructure. bSC encourages innovation and believes that the One Ontario approach will result in faster construction, and bring significant value to their members and all stakeholders.

The Canadian chapter of buildingSMART International has been established to provide the appropriate body and home for Canadian BIM Standards Development through participation in the development of international BIM standards as the voice of the Canadian marketplace and to promote the awareness of buildingSMART International (bSI) within Canada.
