TORONTO, Ontario, February 9th, 2021

AECO Innovation Lab has welcomed yet another organization to the One Ontario coalition: Digital Built National Capital Region (dbNCR).

dbNCR views One Ontario as being in direct alignment with their goals and primary focus, which is to strengthen AECO technology and innovation at the local level within the National Capital Region.

dbNCR is an organization representing industry and academic professionals from the National Capital Region Ottawa/Gatineau and surrounding area. They view One Ontario as being in direct alignment with their goals and primary focus, which is to strengthen AECO technology and innovation at the local level within the National Capital Region.

The dbNCR organization strongly supports the development of a unified data exchange framework that would harmonize and streamline the entire development approval process, believing it will significantly reduce costs by eliminating redundant customization in every municipality, and facilitate a long-overdue boost to industry productivity. They acknowledge that addressing permitting challenges requires remarkably close co-operation and management amongst stakeholders - from developers, to municipalities and applicable law - and have expressed their support on behalf of the residential construction community.

About Digital Built National Capital Region (dbNCR)

The National Capital Region (NCR) hosts a highly innovative design and construction industry, while our several Universities and Colleges conduct ground-breaking research and education. Three levels of government, including a concentration of federal departments, make the NCR the perfect place to bring a variety of stakeholders together. dbNCR intends to be the intersection of these stakeholders, facilitating discussion, learning and growth.
