Tarion officially joins the One Ontario coalition

AECO Innovation Lab is pleased to welcome Tarion as a supporter of the One Ontario initiative and member of the coalition.
Tarion believes that establishing data exchange standards for the development approval process supports their commitment to modernize and build a more transparent, fair, and accountable new home warranty and protection program for both homeowners and the broader industry.
Tarion is a not-for-profit consumer protection organization established by the Ontario government to administer the province’s new home warranty program. Over the past 40 years they have served over 2 million new home buyers and new home owners by ensuring that one of their life’s biggest investments is protected. They believe that establishing data exchange standards for the development approval process supports their commitment to modernize and build a more transparent, fair, and accountable new home warranty and protection program for both homeowners and the broader industry.
Tarion strongly supports the One Ontario initiative and believes that a unified data exchange framework would harmonize and streamline the entire development approval process. It would significantly reduce costs by eliminating redundant customization in every municipality, and facilitate a long-overdue boost to industry productivity. They acknowledge that addressing permitting challenges requires remarkably close co-operation and management amongst stakeholders - from developers, to municipalities and applicable law - and have expressed their support for the One Ontario program.

Tarion is a not-for-profit consumer protection organization established by the Ontario government to administer the province’s new home warranty program.
